Glenn Vogel is a master at metal fabrication and metal sculpture. He has
over 30 years experience working with both ferrous (steel) and non-ferrous
(aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, stainless steel, titanium, and zinc)
materials.
In 1997, Glenn
created got
metal? a design and fabrication studio specializing in high-end
utilitarian art and sculpture. Glenn
and wife Lanette specialize in smaller high-end projects that require particular
attention to detail. Glenn's background in aerospace machining makes got
metal? a very diverse custom metal fabrication studio.
Glenn's custom architectural metal work includes: stainless steel and copper
countertops and range hoods, artistic / sculpted interior and exterior railing,
custom metal furniture, chasing, reposé, and metal sculpture. Hand formed shapes
are a specialty. Some examples of Glenn's sculpture can be found at the
Evergreen Art Center, and in the 2004-2006 Evergreen Sculpture Walk.
A particular
specialty is Glenn's award winning, wine cellars, gates and doors featuring
sculpted vines and grape clusters. Each is custom designed by Glenn and
hand-crafted in a variety of metals and finishes. These designs have won awards
in Colorado's Parade of Homes in 2003 - 2006.
Glenn's artistic heritage goes
back generations to his family in Italy. Glenn chose to honor his Great
Grandfather, Celestine De Leone De Botello, of Palermo Sicily, by using the
DeBotello™ family name on each and every one of Glenn's wine cellar entryways.
